Technical Director
Fuse Theatre Ensemble is looking for a Technical Director to help manage our space and upcoming projects. This position would lead theatre maintenance and improvement, coordinate production design and build/strikes, and act as liaison for stakeholders in the space. The ideal candidate would be hard working, imaginative, detail oriented, and comfortable and happy to work within the Queer community, with a strong focus on equity, diversity, and inclusion.
Job Duties:

Coordinate production design and build/strike with crew for each show

Maintain sound and light systems

Maintain the venue (repairs and updates)

Maintain calendar of upcoming events, projects, and renters

Ensure theatre/dressing rooms are cleaned weekly and immediately after every strike

Act as liaison with landlord

Act as liaison with contractors and government inspectors

Act as liaison with Common Grounds Coffee who shares our building

Meet bi-weekly with the Managing Director and Artistic Director
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities Required:

Interest in theatre
-
Knowledge of sounds and lighting systems (ETC Express and Ion) for theatre

Knowledge and experience in carpentry

Ability to manage your own time

Ability to juggle multiple tasks and priorities

Ability to communicate with clarity and kindness with people of all walks of life

Experience working or volunteering for a non-profit organization

Creativity and ability to work collaboratively, take direction, and meet deadlines

Reliable transportation

Schedule: This position is 10-20 flexible hours per week. There is no set schedule, as long as your work is completed in a reasonable time frame.
Compensation: $20/hr

Ideal candidates will spend some of their time working in the theatre (located at 4319 SE Hawthorne Blvd, Portland) and some time working remotely from a personal device
